  • Live stream recording of report from presidential search committee, Francis Horowitz is speaking.

Official summary of this is posted at antiochcollege.org/news/1122.html

–Finalists will meet with Antioch staff and deliver a public talk –

YELLOW SPRINGS – June 3, 2011 – Presidential Search Committee Chair Frances Degen Horowitz ’54 met with the Antioch community today to discuss the presidential search process.

Horowitz, a member of the Board Pro Tempore, spoke at a public meeting attended by approximately 50 alumni, College employees and villagers. A sound feed was streamed live over the Internet.

All candidates for the presidency of Antioch College were reviewed by search firm Isaacson, Miller, which specializes in executive leadership searches for mission-focused institutions, Horowitz said. The search committee is working to identify a group of semifinalists, but no timetables or deadlines have been established.

This more deliberate approach is designed in order for the “most perfect president” to be selected, said Horowitz, President Emerita of the City University of New York Graduate School and University Center.

“We are very much aware that we should not make decisions because we feel the calendar pushing us,” Horowitz said.

When finalists are identified, they will meet with the Antioch staff as well as give a brief talk to the community that will be streamed over the Internet. Additionally, alumni will be invited to share their impressions of the candidates with the search committee before the committee makes its final recommendations to the Board Pro Tempore.

A full recording of the session will be available at www.antiochcollege.org/media.

NONSTOP DISPATCHES TO KEEP OUR COMMUNITY INFORMED

“Every addition to true knowledge is an addition to human power.”
    -Horace Mann

Beginning today, Nonstop Liberal Arts Institute will issue Dispatches to keep everyone in our community informed. These Dispatches are for all of us: the Yellow Springs local community, far-flung alumni of Antioch College, and all of the other past and current members of our community and supporters who care about Nonstop and about the future of the closed Antioch College. Nonstop needs your support and commitment. Dispatches will keep you informed.

Dispatches will consist of news stories, videos, announcements and more and will be posted at nonstopinstitute.org and at Antioch-related sites across the net. Look for them, read them, POST THEM, and pass them on!

Nonstop is about to begin its first semester! To help us celebrate, alum Matt Arnold brought the Rude Mechanical Orchestra to Yellow Springs. Together, we paraded from downtown Yellow Springs to the Nonstop headquarters!
